Boil Water Advisory

September 15, 2025 - Alberta Health Services (AHS) has issued a boil water advisory for Blueberry School after routine testing of the school’s well water did not meet standards. Anyone visiting the school as of Monday morning will notice the signs posted in and around the school.
The good news is, water from the school’s reverse osmosis (RO) system—which supplies the water fountains—was also tested and met all safety requirements. The issue was identified only in samples taken directly from the well.
Out of an abundance of caution, the following steps are being taken:
- Official AHS “Boil Water Advisory” signage will be posted throughout the school.
- Bottled water coolers will be available for students and staff starting Monday morning.
- Parkland School Division (PSD) Facilities Services staff along with AHS Environmental Public Health officers will be onsite Monday, September 15th to collect additional samples and determine next steps.
Blueberry School and PSD will follow the direction from AHS. The advisory will remain in place until such time that water is restored and water quality assured. Further testing will either resolve the issue or determine next steps, or at the very least, confirm that the water from the RO system can continue to be safely used. Until then, every precaution will be taken to ensure the health and safety of students and staff.
Updates will be provided as soon as new information is available. Thank you to all patience and understanding as the school navigates this process.
