Animal Health
If you love animals, then this course is for you! Students in this course will increase their understanding of how to care for and manage animals. Learning the physiology of the cat, dog and horse is just the beginning of learning how to care for animals. Getting to know local veterinarians, and community members involved in agriculture and grooming are a few highlights that students can look forward to.

Art
Let your inner artist shine! In Art, you will have the opportunity to explore your creative side through a few different art projects. You will be able to experience working with different mediums and styles of art.

Cosmetology
Do you love makeup, nail design or styling hair? Then this class is for you!
In this class, you will have the opportunity to explore makeup application and nail care. We will look at makeup brushes and their uses, learn about proper care of tools, and master makeup application techniques.
Nail design is limitless! With this class, you will have the chance to bring your unique ideas to the table and hopefully learn some new skills to create some great looks!
Lastly, if time permits, we will look at some basic hair designs that, with some practice, you will be able to use daily!

Driver's Ed
Drive your learning! Exploring driver's education for a learner's licence. This class is directed to prepare students for writing the Learner's Permit when they are at the legal age of 14 years old.

Floor Hockey
In this course, you will work on your fitness and skills and have the opportunity to play some floor hockey.

Hammer & Nails
If you are interested in introductory carpentry, this is the course for you! In this class, you will build birdhouses and jewelry boxes, and learn basic carpentry safety skills.

Intro to Sports Medicine
Whether it be a daily physical activity such as PhysEd, school teams, or an out-of-school club, injuries are inevitable. Having the tools to provide initial assessment and treatment are important life skills one should have. Learn about the human body (bones and muscles) and basic sports injury taping techniques in this class.

Leadership
In this course, we will focus on student wellness and learn effective leadership skills essential to responsible citizenship. Participate in activities that help to develop a positive whole school community, such as:
- Participating in leadership and cooperative games
- Planning spirit days
- Mentoring younger grades
- Reading daily announcements
- Organizing and leading school-wide activities (friendship club, intramurals, jump into gym etc).
- Organizing healthy initiatives (healthy eating awareness, Hats On for Mental Health Day etc.)
- Assisting with the school recycling program
In the past, Leadership has been heavily involved in various school events like the Monster Mash and Talent Show. These activities may continue, change or be further developed based on student interest and initiative.

Minecraft 101
Do you like Minecraft? Then Minecraft 101 is for you! Learn and celebrate culture and identity by building ancient civilizations through Minecraft Education on your Chromebook. It is recommended that students bring a computer mouse to class in order to make the building process easier. We're looking forward to learning, exploring and building with you!

Musical Theatre & Set Design
Hone your dramatic skills in Blueberry’s musical theatre production! You can sing, you can dance, after all, this is... well, not France. But we do have a stage for another outstanding Blueberry performance!

Paint-by-Numbers / Diamond Painting
This Paint-By-Numbers option will allow you to create beautiful works of art with ease! You can choose your own paint-by-numbers or diamond painting canvas, and will be supplied with a few paint brushes that come with the kit - but feel free to bring your own.

Passion Project
This option is for students who would like to continue on working on their own projects. Students will be expected to bring their own materials for this course and work at their own pace. Daily check-ins and progress checks will be made to help guide students on a regular basis. A final presentation is part of the criteria for this option. If you're not sure of your idea, check in with Mrs. Sharratt to see if we can make this passion happen for you!

Robotics
“Blee blerp. Blee blerp.” - R2D2 talking about how awesome Robotics is!
From traffic lights to car factories to satellites orbiting the earth, robots are everywhere. Students will use LEGO Mindstorms robotic equipment to enter the fascinating world of robotics and learn about the modern information technology that equips robots to perform a wide variety of jobs. Students will design, build, program and test their creations in an attempt to simulate real-life robots and robotics systems.

Do you like hands-on, inquiry, and activity-based science? Do you have a strong desire to learn? Are you a keen, self-motivated learner with good independent work habits? If so, you should check out Science Extension - an enrichment program for students of all ability levels. This program will help you expand your science skills and knowledge. Special FX Makeup
In the Special FX Makeup option, we will be exploring different makeup techniques from aging makeup, as well as having fun creating gory prosthetics or creating illusions with simple makeup. Perhaps becoming a movie makeup artist is in your future! Movie makeup artists are responsible for making their characters look flawless and bringing them to life on-screen. If you are a movie buff and enjoy the intricate details of on-camera makeup, this is the class for you!

Sports Leadership
In Sports Leadership, students will develop their sports knowledge, focus on staying active and learn the value of emphasizing fair play, keeping a positive attitude and having the will to try something new.

Yoga-tta Go for a Walk!
In today’s fast-paced world, we all need some time to work on healthy habits that benefit the mind, body and soul! In this class, we will do yoga (maybe in the park, with sunshine and singing birds!) to bring you a sense of calm. This will be followed by an energetic walk where you can get some exercise and practice the art of conversation. Other relaxation strategies will be introduced and practiced. Take the time to de-stress and relax!

"BITE OF BLUEBERRY" (Grade 7 mini-complementaries)
Grade 7 students have a unique opportunity to get a "taste" of what our complementary courses have to offer at Blueberry. Enjoy!
Music 7
BB Music gives students the opportunity to play various classroom instruments, including guitar, ukulele, drums, handbells and xylophones/metallophones/glockenspiels. Students have the opportunity to practice, perform and create in each musical unit.
